We had more daffodils in Church than ever before. They came with every worshippers to make the Church fresh and beautiful. The children certainly helped the festival feeling with their Easter bonnets. They stayed with us through the morning’s service and helped us think through what was missing for the grieving disciples when they looked in the tomb. We thought about how Jesus fills up lives and brings a sense of wholeness.
We didn’t keep all the daffodils to ourselves, a cross was erected at the top of the Church steps for all to see. A sign that the crucfix is changed from a sign of execution into the symbol of our faith and hope. The morning finished with us singing “Thine be the Glory” outside the Church - just before a heavy April shower sent us scurrying home carrying bunches of daff’s to friends & family as a sign of God’s love.
The Olympic Torch is coming to Hardgate on Saturday 9th June. A runner will carry the torch through Hardgate roundabout.
That's where the party organised by the Church will be. From 8.15am that morning we will be serving hot breakfasts, tea/coffee and juice.
Children will have flags to wave and we will all be able to line the railings of the roundabout to get a good view of the Torch when it comes past.
Already we have sponsorship from Clydebank COOP, Empire Cinema, MacDonalds and Little Frankies.
You are invited to come as well. Its open to everyone, its free and its just for the fun of sharing in the Olympic build up.
SAt 9th June, 8.15-9.15am outside the COOP store in Hardgate.
