Who We Are?

We are a congregation of the Church of Scotland. Our history reaches back to 1845 when our congregation was created in Duntocher. At that time Faifley was only farmland and the Hardgate village was small.

When Clydebank was being rebuilt and expanded in the 1950s the Church took the decision to close their existing building and moved into Faifley. For 10 years the present Hall also served as a Church on Sunday mornings. In 1966 the new Church was built and demonstrated the interest in new architectural forms for Churches.

Our Church resembles a theatre in the round. The circular arrangement of seats are sloped towards the central communion table. Above the table is suspended a cross with 4 cross bars. This arrangement makes for an intimate feel since the congregation looks across at each other, at friends and neighbours.
